Some recognitions celebrate success. Others recognise service. Receiving a Gold Medal from H.E. Zulfi Bukhari, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfi Bukhari, in the presence of H.E. Ghulam Dastgir, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, Ghulam Dastgir, and H.E. Ahmed Amjad Ali, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Ahmed Amjad Ali, was one of the most meaningful honours of my journey.
The medal was awarded in recognition of my efforts to support overseas Pakistanis during the COVID-19 pandemic—a time when uncertainty, isolation, and hardship affected countless families across the world. During those challenging months, the priority was never recognition; it was simply to help wherever possible and stand alongside the community when they needed support the most.
Receiving this honour in the presence of H.E. Ghulam Dastgir, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Ahmed Amjad Ali, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, made the occasion even more special. Their presence reflected the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission to serving overseas Pakistanis and highlighted the importance of collaboration between government institutions, community leaders, and volunteers during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
While I am deeply grateful for this recognition, I see it not as the end of a journey but as an encouragement to continue serving with the same dedication. The trust of the community and the opportunity to contribute to causes that positively impact the lives of overseas Pakistanis remain among the greatest privileges of my professional and public life.
I extend my sincere gratitude to H.E. Zulfi Bukhari, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, H.E. Ghulam Dastgir, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Ahmed Amjad Ali, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, for their encouragement, trust, and support. This medal will always remind me that the greatest recognition comes not from receiving an award, but from making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
